Tapi kali ini situasinya berbeda. Tak ada kerumunan warga yang menantikan detik detik pergantian hari di tahun yang baru. Hal itu karena memang pemerintah melarang adanya perayaan Tahun Baru di area publik untuk menghindari kerumunan warga yang berpotensi terjadi penularan COVID-19. Bahkan di beberapa tempat yang biasanya dijadikan titik warga berkumpul untuk merayakan Tahun Baru mendapat penjagaan aparat keamanan yang mensosialisasikan larangan untuk berkumpul tersebut.
