Sebagai salah satu daerah penghasil getah gambir terbesar di Indonesia dan merupakan produk ekspor, getah gambir sangat potensial untuk dikembangkan.<\/p>\n<p>Selain digunakan sebagai bahan untuk <em>nginang<\/em>, getah gambir juga dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan kosmetik, obat obatan dan banyak lagi manfaatnya. Getah gambir yang menjadi populer ketika limbah pembuatan getah gambir dimanfaatkan sebagai pewarna alami kain tradisional khas Sumsel Jumputan.<\/p>\n<p>Pemanfaatan limbah untuk pewarna alami kain Jumputan tidak sepopuler dan menguntungkan dengan kain Jumputan. Hanya sebagian kecil limbah ini dimanfaatkan untuk pewarna alami sementara produksi getah gambir hampir setiap hari berproduksi.
